SUMMARY:St George's Court
DESCRIPTION:Every St George’s Day\, the officials of the Court Baron and View of Frankpledge in Lichfield\, ( a.k.a.St George’s Court) gather at the Guildhall to appoint the officers of the manor of the Barony of Lichfield. The Mayor and councillors instal two High Constables\, seven Dozeners (or petty constables)\, two Pinners and two Ale Tasters and annual reports are made by the Constables and officers. Fines are  imposed by the jury for any transgressions over the previous year and a feature of the event are the ridiculous reasons given for non-compliance with the rules and for the harsh punishments pronounced by the jurors!

SUMMARY:Sheriff's Darwin Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Sheriff of Lichfield\, Cathy Wood\, invites everyone to join the Sheriff’s Darwin Walk on Sunday 27 April. The walk will begin at 10:00 AM from Bunker’s Hill Car Park in Beacon Park (WS13 6RA). \n\n\n\nSpanning approximately 6 miles\, this scenic route follows the City boundary and takes around 3 hours to complete. It offers mainly rural paths with stunning views of Lichfield. Participation doesn’t require booking—simply join at the start and walk as much as you’re comfortable with. Well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome! \n\n\n\nThe walk is free of charge\, but the Sheriff kindly requests donations to support Lichfield Food Bank. Items such as shampoo\, tinned food\, and long-life cartons can be brought to the starting point and will be delivered to the Food Bank warehouse to aid those in need. \n\n\n\nFor further information please contact: Harriet Chatwin at Lichfield City Council \n\n\n\n01543 309858 \n\n\n\ncivic@lichfield.gov.uk
