Famous Lichfeldians

Lichfield, the historic Staffordshire cathedral city is often called “a city of philosophers,” is most famous as the birthplace of author/lexicographer Samuel Johnson and home to Erasmus Darwin. Known for its three-spired cathedral, it was a 18th-century intellectual hub associated with David Garrick and Anna Seward.
