Community groups, clubs, charities, societies and voluntary organisations serving the people of Lichfield are now invited to apply for grant funding from Lichfield City Council’s 2027/28 budget.
To be eligible, organisations must operate for the benefit of residents living within the City of Lichfield boundary.
When considering applications, particular priority will be given to projects and activities that contribute to one or more of the following:
- Addressing challenges arising from the cost of living.
- Tackling climate change and supporting progress towards net zero.
- Promoting inclusion across the city, particularly for disadvantaged, marginalised or isolated individuals and communities.
- Supporting and meeting the needs of young people.
- Enhancing the cultural and creative life of the city.
Each year, the City Council provides funding to a wide range of organisations, including youth groups, sports clubs, arts organisations, charities and community groups. During the current year alone, grants totalling more than £50,000 have been awarded.
Grants can be used to support an organisation’s ongoing activities or to help deliver a specific project or initiative. Applications are welcomed from both established recipients and organisations applying to the scheme for the first time.
The Chair of the City Council’s Grants Committee, Councillor Colin Ball, said:
“Lichfield is fortunate to have so many dedicated organisations and volunteers making a positive difference in our communities. Through the grants programme, the City Council is proud to support projects that improve the lives of local people. We are particularly keen to receive applications that help deliver our key priorities, including initiatives that strengthen the city’s thriving arts and cultural sector.” Application forms are available on the City Council’s website”
